
Research (Strategy) Intern
Role description
As a Research Intern at Provoke, you support the strategy and research team in supporting research programs through desk research, in-depth interviews, ethnographic studies, group sessions, and trend observations. You help uncover how communities engage with categories like sport, fashion, and music, and how those relationships shift across places, cultures, and generations. Your work is grounded in curiosity, empathy, and the ability to translate relevant signals into insight.
Whether scanning trends or supporting interviews, you help translate raw findings into structured insight frameworks that guide creative and strategic thinking. You’ll assist in research design, fieldwork coordination, and content synthesis, helping the team execute on the research services that we offer.
What You’ll Do
Conduct desk research tailored to the project needs — from audience mindsets and subcultures to market dynamics and thematic territories.
Support interview preparation, note-taking, and synthesis alongside the research team
Track emerging trends, movements, and social behaviors to build contextual timelines and context
Help gather and structure insight from various inputs — interviews, ethnography, social signals
Contribute to the organization of fieldwork and coordination with local researchers or partners
Assist in building and maintaining a insight reference library and internal databank

Curiosity for global trends, local stories, and the nuances that shape different communities
Strong research and synthesis skills. You can connect signals, spot patterns, and build narratives
Clear communication skills (English required; other languages a plus)
A proactive mindset. You take initiative, ask smart questions, and enjoy contributing to collective thinking
A background in anthropology, sociology, media, design, or a related field is a plus
